Palaverdy Tree Roots Removal

Gardening Question From Sandra:

I had a palaverdy tree removed. Now roots are sprouting. Soaked grown & try to dig them out( Az rock&clay ground) want to plant a lemon tree in fall. How do I get rid of this problem. Thank you for any help.

My advice is to wait until spring, at least May, to plant your lemon tree. Citrus are tropical plants
and for best start should be planted in warm weather. Meanwhile continue removing roots and
sprouts. You could try keeping the ground dry and covered with layers of newspapers to keep out
light.
